Started off renting from this rad place called Bike Revolution in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp District off 6th. Can't beat $13 for 4 hours, a simple cruiser & a basket perfect for my tripod & camera. :) I wandered the city in search of strangers with a common interest & love for photography. I found one. He sees things others don't & takes pride in noticing the "little things," not to mention, he is really good at making people smile & sparking conversations with strangers. Be sure to check out some of his work or say hi! https://www.instagram.com/noahgilman/ Above: Two kids who were not happy as we passed, one of them crying while their dad paid no notice on the phone. I turned around to find Noah taking their photo & moods being instantly changed. #photogproblems Below: Delicate Stranger, Familiar Soul: Familiar Stranger, Delicate Soul. All photos by: Pam Ashley This gorgeous set is from one of my more recent shoots with the very talented local Hairstylist, Heather Chapman from Katy, Texas for last months June 2016 issue of Behind the Chair Magazine. It is amazing what social media can do to bring strangers together to make magic happen so quickly behind the lens. A touch of soft, subtle makeup from another local artist Kaitlyn Cantu, a fresh unique look of Miss Leah Sullivan, another local model signed with Neal Hamil Agency-- twisted with the beautiful, classic hair styles of Heather Chapman & the historic downtown feel of The Houston Studio. All brought together by Orlando Rodriguez, organizer & hairstylist, to deliver these breathtaking photos that were able to gain an entire spread. Beyond blessed to collaborate with such local talent once again. |
Author"I am a woman of many talents & writing has always been a passion alongside photography. It all has been a journey & I am going to dedicate some time to giving y'all a glimpse of my not so normal, eventful days behind the scenes & who I cross paths with. Creating art & capturing beautiful souls & moments, always challenging myself to unique ideas is what gives me that burst of adrenaline. Hope y'all enjoy! " -Pam Archives
